Source and identity
Photographs of vehicle labels and documents were privately supplied for research on September 27 and October 3, 2026. The SPID, build sheet, metal ratings plate, Chevrolet VIN-label sheet and photographed sale/warranty documents visibly carry CCS246Z153447. During the October 3 upload sequence, the contributor identified Bring a Trailer as the source. This is contributor-reported attribution: individual public image URLs have not been independently matched to the gallery, and photographer, capture dates, document authenticity and chain of custody remain unestablished. No source image or private customer information is reproduced here.
Selected document readings
The supplied SPID and build-sheet photographs both show model CC20963. The build sheet prints Fremont, California, and the SPID’s W/BASE field is recorded literally as 1645. Chevrolet’s January 16, 1976 model selector places CC20963 in the C20 Crew Cab group. Selected readable SPID entries are LF8 454 V8, M40 Turbo Hydra-Matic, C60 air conditioning, NL2 auxiliary fuel tank, YE9 Silverado equipment, Z81 Basic Camper Special and GT5 rear axle 4.10. These are readings of the supplied copies, not verification of the components installed today.
A certification-label photograph supplied with those copies reads 07/76, GVWR 8,200 lb, front GAWR 3,800 lb and rear GAWR 5,700 lb. Its VIN area is worn, so the supplied-image grouping is retained separately from the clear VIN readings on the SPID and build sheet. The date is month-level label content, not an exact assembly day; the historical ratings do not establish present safe capacity.
A further supplied photograph shows a metal GM ratings/camper-loading plate stamped CCS246Z153447, with GVWR 8,200 lb, front GAWR 3,800 lb and rear GAWR 5,700 lb. These readings agree with the certification label. They are historical plate content and do not establish present safe capacity.
Photographed delivery paperwork
A photographed Chevrolet VIN-label sheet repeats CCS246Z153447. A photographed 1976 Chevrolet warranty-information cover carries the same VIN and has 9/16/76 entered in its first-retail-delivery date field. The supplied warranty-disclaimer and odometer-statement forms also carry this VIN and are dated 9/16/76. These are readings of the photographed documents; they do not authenticate the documents or independently establish the delivery event, first owner, ownership continuity or lifetime mileage. The handwritten mileage has not been adopted into this record.
Paint and trim wording
The SPID lists ZY3 with “SPECIAL TWO-TONE PAI,” 41L with “41 SPRING GREEN 43 W,” and 63W with “SADDLE CUSTOM V.” The build sheet separately lists ZY3 “3-TONE PAINT,” 41L “LIME LWR,” 43M “LT/GREEN MID,” 41U “LIME UPR,” 63I “SADDLE TRIM” and 63W “VINYL GRAIN.” These abbreviated descriptions are retained as printed. Their differing vocabulary is not reconciled, and they do not establish the originality of the current finish or upholstery.
Separate auction record
Bring a Trailer lot 165613 independently identifies chassis CCS246Z153447 and records a $63,000 winning bid on October 5, 2024. Its catalog describes a Silverado Camper Special Crew Cab with two-tone green paint, Saddle upholstery, a 454 V8 and three-speed automatic. The statement that it remained with an original owner in Oregon until August 2023 is attributed to the auction/seller account. The Nevada offering venue does not establish present custody.
Evidence limits
The auction reported about 44,000 miles shown on a five-digit odometer; lifetime mileage remains unknown. The contributor-reported Bring a Trailer image source has not been independently joined to individual gallery files. Document authenticity, present component originality, ownership continuity and current custody remain unresolved. The photographed September 16, 1976 paperwork date is not an exact assembly date. Engine-stamping claims remain outside this selected review.
