Documented configuration
Evidence level: Verified VIN and equipment from photographed physical SPID and certification labels. VIN CCD146B156790 is visible on both labels with this 1976 Chevrolet C10 Custom Deluxe long Fleetside, model CC10903. The VIN’s B plant character identifies Baltimore assembly. The SPID records a 131.5-inch wheelbase, a 250 cu in six-cylinder engine (raw code deferred because the small printed glyph is soft), M40 automatic transmission, HE4 3.40 rear-axle ratio, N41 power steering, U63 AM push-button radio, V46 chromed front bumper, ZY2 conventional two-tone paint, and paint entries 23 blue / 12 white. These are readings from the recovered label image, not a reconstruction from the seller’s description.
The original-resolution certification-label photograph supports a May 1976 manufacture date (05/76), correcting the earlier soft reading of 03/76. No special-package code is established in the captured SPID evidence.
Dealer documentation
A photographed Scott Murphy Chevrolet sales/order form No. 16339 bears VIN CCD146B156790 and is dated May 18, 1976. It handwrites model CC10903, Hawaiian Blue exterior, blue trim, automatic transmission, power steering, AM radio and other equipment descriptions, with a dealer total of $5,145.01. It does not print the SPID option-code list previously attributed to it. The handwritten pricing line “Base V8” differs from the VIN-matched SPID’s 250-cubic-inch six-cylinder description; the reason is unresolved. The scheduled May 19 delivery entry is a plan, not independent proof of completed handover. Private purchaser names and addresses are intentionally omitted. A separate Firestone service invoice does not show the VIN and is treated only as contextual evidence.
Sale and provenance
This exact VIN has three documented market appearances. Bring a Trailer lot 104,801 records a $16,250 completed no-reserve sale on April 22, 2023 after 28 bids. Bring a Trailer lot 170,540 records a $13,300 high bid with reserve not met on November 13, 2024 after five bids. The Hagerty Marketplace auction displays a $14,985 sold result on April 28, 2025 after 32 bids, although its live bid log ends at $14,005. The $14,985 figure is therefore presented as the platform-displayed sold result, not an inferred hammer amount.
The seller reports a substantial 2005 restoration, including replacement body panels and a refinish. The seller says Scott Murphy Chevrolet of Lancaster, Pennsylvania sold the truck new and that it stayed with the original owner’s family until 2022. Those ownership statements remain seller claims. The 39,879-mile display is treated as true mileage unknown. West Chester, Pennsylvania and Jacksonville, Florida are dated market locations only and do not establish current custody.
