The auction catalog prints the same identifier. This is one vehicle appearance/source family, without a second independent source family or proof of current custody.

Factory documents

Photo 120 SPID: MODEL # CG31603; W BASE 146 IN; header Printed in Canada and MAR 05 76. Preserve that header date as an inscription with event meaning unestablished, not a manufacture, conversion or delivery date. Selected rows: A02 SOFT-RAY TINTED GLASS; LS9 V8 ENGINE – 350 C.I.D; GT8 REAR AXLE–4.10 RATIO; M40 TURBO HYDRA-MATIC TRA…; Z64 RV OPTION PACKAGE; Z80 SPECIAL EXTERIOR TRIM; Z73 SPECIAL INTERIOR TRIM; ZY1 SOLID PAINT; 89P POLAR WHITE; 89U POLAR WHITE. Model and shortened wording remain literal; no complete-label transcription or current-equipment originality is asserted. Z64 does not identify Coachmen or date/authenticate conversion.

Physical vehicle evidence

Photo 137 GM identity/rating plate: CGL3364123673; GVWR 10,000 lb; front GAWR 3,900 lb; rear GAWR 7,000 lb. No manufacture-date field, complete conformity declaration or CWR is visible on this piece. Photo 120 SPID independently repeats the full identifier. Historical ratings do not establish present capacity, authenticity or original installation. Coachmen/Leprechaun body branding is photographed but is not a converter identity record.

Owner or seller statements

Purple Wave describes LR9500 as a 1976 Coachmen Chevy Van 30 RV with a 5.7-liter gasoline V8, automatic transmission, 43,703 displayed miles and 16-foot-6-inch camper length. It reports hail damage, no battery, carburetor and possible fuel-system problems, and a non-operational unit. These are auction-era claims, not current-condition, lifetime-mileage or installed-originality findings.

Open questions

Establish Coachmen conversion identity, original chassis/body pairing and conversion chronology from a reliable converter record. Define the SPID header date field before assigning a manufacturing event. Preserve literal model CG31603 without forced normalization. Verify artifact authenticity and original installation, installed-component/finish originality, lifetime mileage, present condition and later custody. The absent-paper observation is limited to 137 screened stills; video remains unreviewed.

Matching GM plate and Service Parts Identification label

Purple Wave lot LR9500 is described as a 1976 Coachmen Chevy Van 30 RV. Original gallery photo 137 shows CGL3364123673 on a GM metal identification/rating plate. The identifier includes a literal numeric 4 after the 6. Selected readings are GVWR 10,000 lb, front GAWR 3,900 lb and rear GAWR 7,000 lb. No manufacture-date field, complete federal-conformity declaration or CWR is visible on that piece. These historical ratings do not establish present safe capacity, artifact authenticity or original installation.

Photo 120 shows a Service Parts Identification label with the same identifier, printed as CGL3364 123673, MODEL # CG31603 and W BASE 146 IN. The header also says Printed in Canada and MAR 05 76. That date is retained as an inscription in the SPID header; its event meaning is not independently established, and it is not adopted as a manufacture, conversion or retail-delivery date. Printed in Canada describes the label’s printed wording and does not independently establish the vehicle’s assembly location.

Selected option-label wording

The selected rows include A02, SOFT-RAY TINTED GLASS; LS9, V8 ENGINE – 350 C.I.D; GT8, REAR AXLE–4.10 RATIO; M40, TURBO HYDRA-MATIC TRA…; Z64, RV OPTION PACKAGE; Z80, SPECIAL EXTERIOR TRIM; Z73, SPECIAL INTERIOR TRIM; and ZY1, SOLID PAINT. Both 89P and 89U are followed by POLAR WHITE. Shortened wording is retained rather than completed from a code list. The label model CG31603 is preserved literally without forcing it into another model-number legend.

The Z64 line is useful vehicle-specific GM RV-option wording. It does not name Coachmen, authenticate the RV body’s original pairing with this chassis, or date the conversion. These selected rows are not a complete label transcription or proof that the currently installed engine, transmission, axle, trim and finish remain original.

Auction appearance, condition account and coverage

The original lot page records a closed October 30, 2024 appearance at Astoria, South Dakota and displays a $330 Contract Price. This is the platform’s reported result; fee allocation, payment and delivery are not independently verified. Its description lists a 5.7-liter gasoline V8, automatic transmission, 43,703 displayed miles and a 16-foot-6-inch camper length. The seller reports hail damage, a missing battery, carburetor and possible fuel-system problems, and a non-operational unit. Those are auction-era descriptions; lifetime mileage and current condition are unknown.

The gallery shows Coachmen and Leprechaun body branding. All 137 exposed still positions were screened, using the normal source images for positions 1–125 and hires images for 126–137, with the hires SPID at 120 also examined. No separate buildsheet, invoice, order form, converter identity label or incomplete-vehicle label was identified in that set. The linked video was not assessed. The original lot page, gallery and seller archive form one auction source family. No source images or private owner details are reproduced. Converter identity and original pairing, the date inscription’s precise role, artifact authenticity, component originality, lifetime mileage and later custody remain open.
