New physical evidence for an existing source lead
Classic Auto Mall’s archived listing, stock 1762 and ClassicCars CC-1297703, identifies this 1976 GMC 1500 pickup as TCL146S502320. The full VIN is clearly stamped on the GM identification/loading plate in gallery photo 64. Independent pixel review confirms the identifier and the main historical ratings. This advances a previously recorded listing lead with a newly reviewed physical artifact.
The plate lists GVWR 5,400 lb and front and rear GAWR 3,100 lb each. Its full CWR number is held because the last glyph is softer. No manufacture date or federal conformity declaration is visible on this piece. These historical ratings do not establish present safe loading capacity. The plate does not establish original trim, factory options or retention of the original powertrain.
Dealer account and mileage discrepancy
The dealer described a burgundy-and-white project pickup with red vinyl upholstery, a 350 V8, TH350 three-speed automatic and 12-bolt rear axle. It reported substantial body and undercarriage corrosion, limited its driving evaluation because of the undercarriage condition, and said the truck needed work to be roadworthy. These are historical dealer observations, not a current mechanical or structural assessment. Its engine-bay originality description remains unverified.
The structured odometer field reads 3,254, photo 26 shows 3,255 on the five-digit odometer, and the narrative describes over 100,000 miles. Those source observations are retained without calculating a total from an assumed rollover. Lifetime mileage and odometer continuity are unknown.
The archived asking price is $7,500. The sold/unavailable page marker does not establish a transaction date or paid amount. Morgantown, Pennsylvania is the listing location, not verified current custody.
Review scope
The earlier review covered gallery photo 1, whose image URL matches the current listing. The present pass screened photos 2–67 and examined photo 64 in its linked 1280×960 version. These two passes cover all 67 exposed positions, including three dealer promotional images at 65–67. No readable SPID, buildsheet, invoice or order form was identified in the screened set. No video was assessed. This is one dealer/syndication source family. Artifact authenticity, manufacture date, original equipment, later custody and lifetime mileage remain unresolved. No source image or private personal detail is reproduced.
